Minehead, Somerset

The ex fishing village and coastal resort of Minehead nestles beneath the dramatic landscape of Exmoor National Park and is a perfect place to visit, both for the seaside resort itself as well as the fascinating heritage and countryside.

The town is everything expected from a lively holiday spot. A delightful sandy beach and promenade leads to a picturesque quayside overlooked by the splendid wooded North Hill. Occasional sea cruises are available from the harbourside.

Minehead takes great pride in its prize-winning floral displays and tree lined avenues. A walk to the seafront and around the town will be a pleasure for all. The town centre has a host of gift shops, cafes and restaurants, serving traditional food.

In and around the town you will find many places of interest and entertainment including a cinema, leisure pool, Butlin's Family Entertainment Resort. West Somerset Railway is the longest remaining steam railway in the country. Nearby is the medieval village of Dunster with its 17th century octagonal Yarn Market and fairytale 13th castle.
